Segment 1א׳

(שמות כ״ה:ב׳) וְיִקְחוּ לִי תְּרוּמָה מֵאֵת כָּל אִישׁ וְגוֹ', רָזָא דְּרָזִין לְיַדְעֵי חָכְמְתָא, כַּד אִסְתַּלָּק בִּרְעוּתָא דְּסִתְרָא דְּכָל סִתְרִין לְמֶעְבַּד יְקָרָא לִיקָרֵיהּ, אַנְשִׁיב רוּחָא מִנְקוּדָה עִלָּאָה, דְּנָגִיד מִלְּעֵילָּא לְתַתָּא, וְשַׁוֵּי תְקּוּנֵיהּ, לְאִתְיַשְּׁבָא בְּהַאי עָלְמָא. אֲמַאי. בְּגִין דְּאִי לָא יְהֵא עִקָּרָא וְשָׁרְשָׁא בְּהַאי עָלְמָא, לָא יְהֵא מָאנָא לְאַרְקָא בְּהַאי עָלְמָא כְּלַל. וְאִי לָא יָרִיק לְהַאי עָלְמָא, מִיָּד אִתְאֲבִיד, וְלָא יָכִיל לְקַיְּימָא אֲפִילּוּ רִגְעָא חֲדָא. אֲבָל בְּגִין דְּתִקוּנֵיהּ אִיהוּ מֵהַאי עָלְמָא אִתְמְלֵי מִסִּטְרָא חֲדָא לְאַרְקָא לְהַאי עָלְמָא, וּמִסִּטְרָא אַחֲרָא לְאַרְקָא לְמַלְאֲכֵי עִלָּאֵי. וְכֹלָּא אִתְּזָנוּ מִנֵּיהּ כַּחֲדָא.

AND THEY SHALL TAKE ME A HEAVE OFFERING FROM EVERY MAN, ETC. A mystery of mysteries, for those who know wisdom. When it arose in the will of the most Hidden of all hidden to make glory for His glory, He breathed forth a spirit from the supernal point, which flows from above downward, and set its establishment, that it might be settled in this world. Why? Because if there were no root and stock in this world, there would be no vessel at all to pour into this world; and if it did not pour into this world, it would perish at once and could not stand even a single moment. But because its establishment is from this world, it is filled from the one side to pour into this world, and from the other side to pour to the supernal angels; and all are nourished from it together.

Segment 2ב׳

שְׁלִימוּ דְּתִקּוּנָא דְּהַאי רוּחָא, רוּחֵיהוֹן דְּצַדִּיקַיָּא בְּהַאי עָלְמָא. רוּחָא דָּא אִשְׁתְּלִים, בְּזִמְנָא דַּחֲנוֹךְ וְיֶּרֶד וּמַהֲלַלְאֵל הֲווֹ בְּעָלְמָא וְכַד אַסְגִּיאוּ חַיָּיבֵי עָלְמָא, אַעְדּוּ הַהוּא שְׁלִימוּ מִנֵּיהּ. לְבָתַר דְּאִתְאֲבִידוּ, אָתָא נֹחַ וְאַשְׁלִים לֵיהּ. אָתָא דּוֹר הַפְּלָגָה, אַעְדּוּ הַהוּא שְׁלִימוּ מִנֵּיהּ. אָתָא אַבְרָהָם וְאַשְׁלִים לֵיהּ. אָתוּ אַנְשֵׁי סְדוֹם וְאַעֲדוּ לֵיהּ. אָתָא יִצְחָק וְאַשְׁלִים לֵיהּ. אָתוּ פְּלִשְׁתִּים וְחַיָּיבֵי דָּרָא וְאַעֲדוּ לֵיהּ מִנֵּיהּ. אָתָא יַעֲקֹב וּבְנוֹי, עַרְסָא שְׁלֵימָא, וְאַשְׁלִימוּ לֵיהּ.

The completeness of the establishment of this spirit is the spirits of the righteous in this world. This spirit was completed at the time when Enoch and Jered and Mahalalel were in the world; and when the sinners of the world multiplied, they took that completeness from it. After they perished, Noah came and completed it. The generation of the Tower of Babel came, and they took that completeness from it. Abraham came and completed it. The people of Sodom came and took it away. Isaac came and completed it. The Philistines and the sinners of that generation came and took it from it. Jacob and his sons came, a perfect bed, and they completed it.

Segment 3ג׳

נָפְקוּ מֵאַרְעָא קַדִּישָׁא וְנַחְתּוּ לְמִצְרַיִם, וּבְגִינַיְיהוּ אִתְעַכָּבַת תַּמָּן. וּבְגִין דְּאָהַדְרִי תַּמָּן יִשְׂרָאֵל לְעוֹבָדִין דְּמִצְרָאֵי, אִתְכַּפְיָא וְאִתְעָדֵי הַהוּא שְׁלִימוּ, עַד דְּנַפְקוּ מִמִּצְרָיִם, וְאָתוּ לְמֶעְבַּד מַשְׁכְּנָא. אָמַר קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא, רְעוּתִי לְדַיְּירָא בֵּינַיְיכוּ, אֲבָל לָא יָכִילְנָא עַד דִּתְתַקְנוּן הַהוּא רוּחָא דִּילִי, דְּיִשְׁרֵי בְּגַּוַויְיכוּ. הֲדָא הוּא דִכְתִיב, וְעָשׂוּ לִי מִקְדָּשׁ וְשָׁכַנְתִּי בְּתוֹכָם.

They went out from the holy land and went down to Egypt, and on their account it tarried there. And because Israel there returned to the deeds of the Egyptians, that completeness was subdued and taken away, until they went out from Egypt and came to make the Tabernacle. The Holy One, blessed be He, said: My will is to dwell among you, but I cannot until you set right that spirit of Mine, that it may dwell within you. That is what is written: “And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them” (Ex. 25, 8).
