Segment 1א׳

אַדְּהָכִי שַׁמְעוּ שִׁירָתָא דְּיַמָּא, בְּקָל נְעִימוּ דְּלָא שָׁמְעוּ מִיּוֹמָא דְּאִתְבְּרִיאוּ, קָל נְעִימוּ דְּשִׁירָתָא, כְּהַהוּא נְעִימוּ דַּהֲווֹ אַמְרֵי. וְכַד סִיְּימוּ (שמות ט״ו:י״ח) יְיָ יִמְלוֹךְ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶד. חָמוּ ד' דִּיוּקְנִין בִּרְקִיעַ. וְחַד מִנַּיְיהוּ רַב וְעִלָּאָה מְכֻּלְּהוּ. וְהַהוּא רַב וְעִלָּאָה מִנַּיְיהוּ, אִתְּעַר קָלָא וְאָמַר, (ירמיהו ב׳:ב׳) כֹּה אָמַר יְיָ זָכַרְתִּי לָךְ חֶסֶד נְעוּרַיִךְ אַהֲבַת כְּלוּלוֹתָיִךְ וְגוֹ'. שָׁאט בִּרְקִיעָא וְאַגְנִיז, קָם אַחֲרָא אֲבַתְרֵיהּ וְאָמַר, (ישעיהו מ״ב:ט״ז) וְהוֹלַכְתִּי עִוְרִים בְּדֶּרֶךְ לֹא יָדָעוּ בִּנְתִיבוֹת לֹא יָדְעוּ וְגוֹ'. סִיֵּים וְשָׁאט בִּרְקִיעָא וְאַגְנִיז.

Meanwhile they heard the song of the sea, in a voice of sweetness such as they had not heard from the day they were created — a voice of the sweetness of the song, like that sweetness in which they used to sing it. And when they finished, “The Lord shall reign for ever and ever” (Ex. 15, 18), they saw four images in the firmament, and one of them was greater and more supernal than them all. And that one, greater and more supernal than them, roused a voice and said, “Thus says the Lord: I remember for you the affection of your youth, the love of your espousals,” etc. (Jer. 2, 2). It swept through the firmament and was hidden away. Another rose after it and said, “And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not, in paths that they knew not will I lead them,” etc. (Isa. 42, 16). It finished, and swept through the firmament, and was hidden away.

Segment 2ב׳

פָּתַח אִידָךְ וְאָמַר, (ישעיהו ל״ה:א׳) יְשׂוּשׂוּם מִדְבָּר וְצִיָּה וְתָגֵל עֲרָבָה וְתִפְרַח כַּחֲבַצָּלֶת. וְשָׁאט בִּרְקִיעָא, וְאַגְנִיז. פָּתַח אִידָךְ וְאָמַר, (ישעיהו מ״ג:א׳) כֹּה אָמַר יְיָ בּוֹרַאֲךָ יַעֲקֹב וְגוֹ', (ישעיהו מ״ג:ט״ז) כֹּה אָמַר יְיָ הַנּוֹתֵן בַּיָּם דָּרֶךְ וּבְמַיִם עַזִּים נְתִיבָה וְגוֹ'. תְּכַבְּדֵנִי חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה תַּנִּים וּבְנוֹת יַעֲנָה וְגוֹ'. סִיֵּים וְשָׁאט בִּרְקִיעָא, וְאַגְנִיז. כְּדֵין דְּחִילוּ סַגִּיא וְאֶמְתָּנִי נָפַל עָלַיְיהוּ.

Another opened and said, “The wilderness and the parched land shall be glad, and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose” (Isa. 35, 1). And it swept through the firmament and was hidden away. Another opened and said, “Thus says the Lord that created you, Jacob,” etc. (Isa. 43, 1); “Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea and a path in the mighty waters,” etc. (Isa. 43, 16); “The beasts of the field shall honour Me, the jackals and the ostriches,” etc. It finished, and swept through the firmament, and was hidden away. Then a great and fearful dread fell upon them.

Segment 3ג׳

כַּד הֲוָה נָהִיר יְמָמָא, קָלָא אִתְּעַר כְּמִלְּקַדְּמִין, וְאָמַר, עַמָּא תַּקִּיפָא כְּאַרְיֵה, גִּבָּרִין כִּנְמָרִין, הָבוּ יְקָר לְמָארֵיכוֹן. דִּכְתִּיב, (ישעיהו כ״ה:ג׳) עַל כֵּן יְכַבְּדוּךָ עַם עָז וְגוֹ'. שָׁמְעוּ קָל. חֵילִין וּמַשִׁרְיָין דַּהֲווֹ אַמְרֵי, (דברי הימים א כ״ט:י״א) לְךָ יְיָ הַגְּדוּלָה וְהַגְּבוּרָה וְהַתִּפְאֶרֶת וְהַנֵּצַח וְהַהוֹד וְגוֹ', עַד וּמְרוֹמַם עַל כָּל בְּרָכָה וּתְהִלָּה. תַּוְוהוּ וְאַזְלוּ. אַדְּהָכִי נָהַר יְמָמָא, אַהְדְּרוּ רֵישָׁא, וְחָמוּ כָּל מַדְבְּרָא חָפֵּי בַּעֲנָנֵי יְקָר, מְנַהֲרָן, מְנַצְּצָן, בִּגְוָונִין סַגִּיאִין.

When the day was growing light, a voice was roused as before, and said: People strong as a lion, mighty as leopards, give honour to your Master! As it is written, “Therefore shall the strong people glorify You,” etc. (Isa. 25, 3). They heard a voice — hosts and camps that were saying, “Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty,” etc. (I Chron. 29, 11), as far as “and exalted above all blessing and praise”. They were astonished, and went on. Meanwhile the day grew light; they turned their heads and saw the whole wilderness covered with clouds of glory, shining, sparkling, in many colours.
