Segment 1
O holy pious one, at the hour when the letters fly, a man sees among the large letters, written in the air for that moment, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Gen. 1, 1-2) (“And the earth was unformed and void,” and so forth: from here the large letters return as at first). The small letters strike upon them and fly, and there appears from them what is written, “And God said, Let there be light,” etc.; “And God saw the light,” etc. Afterwards the small letters return and strike upon the large letters, and there appears from them what is written, “And God said, Let there be a firmament,” etc. And so with all the work of creation. Great wonders, and a joy to the eyes, are the doings of these letters. Happy is the people that waits for all this.
Segment 2
O holy pious one, whoever keeps the covenant sets it behind him, and she is in front. And if you should say, who keeps guard behind him? There is a guard, great and supernal above all, that keeps him. And what is it? The supernal Righteous One, in great love. He comes in between Zaddik and zedek, and is found guarded on every side. Happy is he who keeps this covenant. And therefore in Israel all the males who keep this sign of the covenant appear before the holy King. Who is there that can harm the son, who is in the middle, his father on this side and his mother on that, and he between them? And this is when he is after the Lord.
