Segment 1
And the masters of stature are marked by them in prayer — in what place? Rather: Whoever bows, bows at “Blessed”; and whoever straightens, straightens at the Name. The straightenings are four, and the bowings four. Behold, here it is hinted in these straightenings and bowings: one carries forward and brings back, to Him whose are the four winds of the world; one raises and lowers, to Him whose are the heavens and the earth. And they are six sides: heaven and earth and the four winds, corresponding to the first three blessings and the last three. At “He who makes peace in His high places”, four: a bowing and a straightening to the left, and a bowing and a straightening to the right. And this is: he gives peace to his left and his right — to the left of his master, and to the right of his master.
Segment 2
Behold, they are twelve, between bowings (a variant reads: windings) and straightenings. And in them are seventy-two eyes. Six bowings, in them eighteen movements, three each time — head and body and tail — for one must bow. In eighteen vertebrae they amount to seventy-two. By these seventy-two eyes of the Holy One, blessed be He, seventy-two wings of the Shekinah shine, and she rises upon them, and is called Amidah (standing). For at first she is fallen, and one must raise her up with the name of the Tetragrammaton, with the Life of the worlds, and with four straightenings in six blessings — which is tiferet, comprising the first three blessings and the last three blessings.
Segment 3
And to bow at the Life of the worlds; and this is Vau-Vau, Vau. Whoever bows, bows at “Blessed”; and whoever straightens, straightens at the name of the Tetragrammaton. The Central Column and the Righteous One: Vau-Vau, Vau. Supernal: binah, the son of Yod-He; and they are hinted in vayyissa, vayyavo, vayyet — the supernal Vau. The son of Yod-He holds to straightening and bowing, and all of them amount to the eighteen blessings of the prayer.
