Segment 1א׳

פָּתַח רִבִּי יְהוּדָה אֲבַתְרִיהּ וְאָמַר, (תהילים כ״ה:י״ד) סוֹד יְיָ' לִירֵאָיו וּבְרִיתוֹ לְהוֹדִיעָם. הַאי קְרָא הָא אוּקְמוּהָ, אֲבָל סוֹד יְיָ' לִיִרִאָיו, הַהוּא רָזָא עִלָּאָה דְּקַיְּימָא בִּגְנִיזוּ, (דאיהו סתים וגניז) לָא קַיְּימָא אֶלָּא לִירֵאָיו, דְּאִינּוּן דַּחֲלִין לְּקוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא תָּדִיר, וְאִינּוּן אִתְחָזוּן לְאִינּוּן רָזִין עִלָּאִין, וּלְמֶהוֵי אִינּוּן רָזִין עִלָּאִין בִּגְנִיזוּ וּבִסְתִּימוּ כְּדְקָא יֵאוֹת, בְּגִין דְּאִינּוּן רָזִין עִלָּאִין. אֲבָל וּבְרִיתוֹ לְהוֹדִיעָם, רָזָא דְּאִיהוּ קַיְּימָא בִּבְרִית קַיָּימָא, לְהוֹדִיעָם, בְּגִין דְּאִיהוּ אֲתָר דְּקַיְּימָא לְגַלָּאָה לְמִנְדַּע.

R. Judah followed with a discourse on the verse: “The counsel (sod) of the Lord is with them that fear him; and his covenant to make them know it” (Ps. 25, 14). ‘ “The counsel” (sod),’ he said, ‘alludes to the sublime mystical knowledge which remains hidden and undisclosed save for those that fear the Lord continuously and thus prove themselves worthy of these secrets and able to keep them.

Segment 2ב׳

תּוּ סוֹד יְיָ' לִירֵאָיו, דְּאִינּוּן רָזִין דְּקַיְימָן בִּדְחִילוּ, וְאִינּוּן דַּחֲלֵי חַטָּאָה דַּחֲלִין בְּהוּ, בְּאִינּוּן רָזִין עִלָּאִין. אֲבָל וּבְרִיתוֹ לְהוֹדִיעָם: לְמִנְדַּע וּלְפָרְשָׁא מִלִּין, בְּגִין דְּאִינּוּן מִלִּין דְּקַיְימָן לְפָרְשָׁא.

Further: “The counsel of the Lord is with them that fear Him” — these are the mysteries that stand in fear, and those who fear sin fear them, in those supernal mysteries. But “and His covenant, to make them know it”: to know and to expound words, because these are words that stand to be expounded.

Segment 3ג׳

תָּא חֲזֵי, בְּאַרְבְּעִין וּתְרֵין אַתְוָון אִתְגְּלִיף עָלְמָא, וְאִתְקָיָּים. וְכֻלְּהוּ עָטָרָא דִּשְׁמָא קַדִּישָׁא. כַּד מִצְטָרְפִין, (בראשית ל' ע"ב) סַלְּקִין בְּאַתְווֹי לְעֵילָּא, וְנַחְתִּין לְתַתָּא, מִתְעַטְּרָן עִטְרִין, בְּאַרְבַּע סִטְרֵי עָלְמָא, וְיָכִיל לְאִתְקַיְּימָא.

Observe that the world has been made and established by an engraving of forty-two letters, all of which are the adornment of the Divine Name. These letters combined and soared aloft and dived downwards, forming themselves into crowns in the four directions of the world, so that it might endure.
