Zohar, Ki Teitzei 30

Section 30 of 30 in Ki Teitzei — 4 segments

Segment 1

So in this same manner is the unleavened bread: with it they invite the seven days of Passover. They invite the seven days of Tabernacles with seven kinds, which are the lulav, and the etrog, and three myrtles, and two willow branches. (On the Feast of Weeks) the Feast of Weeks: so they are called in the Torah. The New Year is a day of judgement — each one according to its kind.

Segment 2

Whoever calls each grade according to its kind, there shall be fulfilled in him, “Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer” (Isa. 58, 9). Az, then: the seven days of Tabernacles, and the festival of the Eighth Day of Solemn Assembly. Az: the unleavened bread, and the seven days of Passover. Az: the booth, and the seven kinds of the lulav, which are three myrtles, and two willows, the lulav, and the etrog — and they are comprised in four; behold, eleven, according to the number of He-Vau. And one must say Hallel over them, Halleluyah, to complete the name of the Tetragrammaton.

Segment 3

And one must raise her up in thought, with the four kinds. That is what is written, “I said: I will climb up into the palm-tree” (S. S. 7, 9). E'eleh is a sign: etrog, aravah, lulav, hadas. And thought is the Ineffable Name, in which the fourteen is completed, even as the fourteen joints of the right hand, with which one must take the lulav. Behold, the giving of the Torah, the Feast of Weeks: seven and seven, fourteen. On the New Year, fourteen, in the voice of the shofar and in the ten shofarot, as we have explained above.
