Segment 1
But from the side of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, in the knot of the phylacteries the evil inclination is bound beneath the good inclination, as a servant beneath his master: by the voice of the Torah, by the voice of prayer, by the voice of the shofar. The voice is a spear against him. And this is the voice of the shofar, the voice of the Central Pillar, which comprises fire, water and air, which are the three patriarchs, in whom are He-Yod-Vau: He in Abraham, Yod in Isaac. In every place where He rules over Yod it is judgement, and this is the He-Yod of Elohim. And therefore, “God is gone up with the teruah” (Ps. 47, 6). Vau from “and the God of Jacob”. And this is the breath of the shofar, the Shekinah, the vessel of all three; and she is the He of ha-shofar.
Segment 2
For they are the ten shofarot, which are Koph-Shin-Resh-Koph, Koph-Shin-Koph, Koph-Resh-Koph; and in them are clothed He-Aleph, Yod-Vau-Daleth, Vau-Aleph-Vau, He-Aleph. For all these letters (a variant reads: they are) are judgements against the other sides and against the wicked, like chains and spears and swords. The teruah is a chain. And there are two teruot in the ten shofarot; and they are one. (…).
Segment 3
Regarding what was said about "the mother laying on her chicks": Israel chirps to her with several chirps of prayer, and therefore she does not need to come down to them. So what does Israel do? They take the mother, which is the shekhina, and they tie her with the knot of the tefillin. When they arrive at the recitation of the Shema, her children call out with the 60 words of unity which are "Shema Yisrael Adonai Elohenu Adonai Eḥad". They go down to the mother and tie her to us. This is the meaning of "that you call them". This is "answering", as with the festivals.
