Segment 1א׳

כְּתִיב (תהילים קל״ב:י״ג) כִּי בָּחַר יְיָ' בְּצִיּוֹן אִוָהּ לְמוֹשָׁב לוֹ. כַּד אִתְפָּרְשַׁת מַטְרוֹנִיתָא, וְאִתְחֲבְּרַת בְּמַלְכָּא אַנְפִּין בְּאַנְפִּין, בְּמַעֲלֵי שַׁבְּתָא. אִתְעָבִיד כֹּלָּא חַד גּוּפָא, וּכְדֵין יָתִיב קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא בְּכוּרְסְיֵיהּ. וְאִקְרֵי כֹּלָּא שְׁמָא שְׁלִים, שְׁמָא קַדִּישָׁא, בְּרִיךְ שְׁמֵיהּ לְעָלַם לְעָלְמֵי עָלְמִין. כָּל אִלֵּין מִלִּין סְלִיקְנָא עַד יוֹמָא דָּא, דְּאִתְעַטָּר בְּהוּ לְעָלְמָא דְּאָתֵי, וְהַשְׁתָּא אִתְגַּלְיָין הָכָא, זַכָּאָה חוּלָקִי.

It is written, “For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His habitation” (Ps. 132, 13). When the Matrona is separated, and is joined with the King face to face on the eve of the Sabbath, all becomes one body; and then the Holy One, blessed be He, sits upon His throne. And all is called the full Name, the Holy Name — blessed be His name for ever and to all eternity. All these words I have kept stored away until this day, to be crowned with them in the world to come; and now they are revealed here. Happy is my portion!

Segment 2ב׳

הַאי מַטְרוֹנִיתָא, כַּד אִתְחַבְּרַת עִם מַלְכָּא, כָּל עָלְמִין מִתְבָּרְכָן, וְאִשְׁתְּכָחוּ בְּחֶדְוָותָא דְּכֹלָּא. כְּמָה דִּדְכוּרָא כָּלִיל בִּתְלָתָא, וְשֵׁירוּתָא בִּתְלָתָא. כַּךְ כֹּלָּא הָכִי, וְסִיּוּמָא דְּכָל גּוּפָא הָכִי, וּמַטְרוֹנִיתָא לָא מִתְבָּרְכָא, אֶלָּא בִּכְלָלָא דִּתְלָתָא אִלֵּין, דְּאִינּוּן נֶצַח הוֹד יְסוֹד, וּמִתְבַּסְּמָא וּמִתְבָּרְכָא בַּאֲתָר דְּאִקְרֵי קֹדֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁים דִּלְתַתָּא. דִּכְתִּיב, (תהילים קל״ג:ג׳) כִּי שָׁם צִוָּה יְיָ' אֶת הַבְּרָכָה. דְּהָא תְּרֵין דַּרְגִּין אִינּוּן לְעֵילָּא וְתַתָּא.

This Matrona — when she is joined with the King, all the worlds are blessed, and are found in the joy of all. Just as the male is comprised in three, and the beginning in three, so is all thus, and the end of the whole body thus; and the Matrona is blessed only in the sum of these three, which are netzach, hod, yesod; and she is sweetened and blessed in the place that is called the Holy of Holies below, as it is written, “For there the Lord commanded the blessing” (Ps. 133, 3). For there are two grades, above and below.

Segment 3ג׳

וּבְגִין כָּךְ לֵית רְשׁוּתָא לְמֵיעַל תַּמָּן, בַּר כַּהֲנָא רַבָּא, דְּאָתֵי מִן סִטְרָא דְּחֶסֶד. בְּגִין דְּלָא עַיִּיל לְהַהוּא אֲתָר דִּלְעֵילָּא, אֶלָּא הַהוּא דְּאִקְרֵי חֶסֶד, וְעַיִּיל בַּקֹּדֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁים, וּמִתְבַּסְּמַת נוּקְבָּא. וּמִתְבָּרְכָא הַאי קֹדֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁים בְּגוֹ לְגוֹ, אֲתָר דְּאִקְרֵי צִיּוֹן. צִיּוֹן וִיְרוּשָׁלַם, תְּרֵין דַּרְגִּין אִינּוּן, חַד רַחֲמֵי, וְחַד דִּינָא. צִיּוֹן, דִּכְתִּיב, (ישעיהו א׳:כ״ז) צִיּוֹן בְּמִשְׁפָּט תִּפָּדֶה. יְרוּשְׁלֵים, דִּכְתִּיב, (ישעיהו א׳:כ״ז) צֶדֶק יָלִין בָּהּ כְּמָה דְּאוֹקִימְנָא.

And therefore there is no permission to enter there save for the High Priest, who comes from the side of chesed. For none enters that place above but that which is called chesed; and it enters the Holy of Holies, and the female is sweetened. And this Holy of Holies is blessed within, within — the place that is called Zion. Zion and Jerusalem are two grades: one mercy, and one judgement. Zion, as it is written, “Zion shall be redeemed with justice” (Isa. 1, 27). Jerusalem, as it is written, “righteousness lodged in her” (Isa. 1, 21), as we have explained.
