Segment 1
On the beard of the Holy Ancient One hangs all the preciousness of all. It is called the mazzal (fortune) of all. From this beard is the mazzal, the preciousness (a variant reads: from this precious mazzal) (a variant reads: from the precious mazzal) of all the precious ones; the mazzalot (stars) above and below all watch over that mazzal. On this mazzal hang the life of all and the food of all. On this mazzal hang heaven and earth, and rains of favour. On this mazzal is the providence of all. On this mazzal hang all the hosts above and below.
Segment 2
Thirteen springs of the good oil of anointing hang in the beard of this precious mazzal, and all of them go forth to the Small of Countenance. Do not say all of them, but nine of them are found in the Small of Countenance, to subdue judgements.
Segment 3
(a variant adds: and when) This mazzal hangs in balance down to the navel. All the holies of holies of holiness hang on it. By this mazzal the spreading of the supernal knot spreads out: that head of all heads, which is not known and is not recognised, and neither the upper nor the lower know it. Therefore all hangs on this mazzal.
