Segment 1
It has been taught in the Book of the Hidden Mystery: the Ancient of Ancients, the Secret of Secrets, the Hidden of the Hidden, was set in order and made ready (a variant adds: that is to say, He was found and was not truly found, but was set in order, and none knew Him, because He was the Ancient of Ancients) (a variant adds: but in His adornments He is known) like a most reverend Elder, more ancient than the ancient, more hidden than the hidden; and in His adornments He is known and not known. His raiment is white (a variant reads: in red), and the appearance of the splendour (a variant reads: the lamp) of His face (a variant reads: in His face); He sits upon a throne of sparks, to subdue them.

The whiteness of the skull of His head spreads out to four hundred thousand worlds. And from the light of this whiteness the righteous inherit, in the world to come, four hundred worlds. This is what is written, “four hundred shekels of silver, current money with the merchant” (Gen. 23, 16).
