Zohar, Idra Rabba 25
Section 25 of 52 in Idra Rabba — 8 segments
Segment 1
It has been taught: when it arose in the will of the White Head to make glory for His glory, He prepared and made ready and brought forth from butzina de-kardinuta (the lamp of darkness) one spark. He blew upon it and it was glorified (a variant reads: it was set in order), and it went up (a variant adds: His will) and spread out into three hundred and seventy directions. And the spark stood, and pure air began to go forth and to roll; He blew upon it, and it was set in order. And there went forth one strong skull, and it spread out to four sides.
Segment 2
And in this pure air the spark was absorbed and joined, and is included (a variant reads: and became included) in it. In it — could you think so? Rather, it was hidden in it. And therefore this skull spreads out on its sides, and this air is the hidden of the hidden of the Ancient of Days, in the spirit that is stored away.
Segment 3
In this skull fire spread out on one side, and air on one side; and the pure air stands over it on this side, and the pure fire stands on that side. What is fire here? Rather, it is not fire, but this lamp (a variant reads: spark) that is included in the pure air, which shines to two hundred and seventy worlds; and judgement is found from its sides. And therefore this skull is called the strong skull.
