Section 6 of 6 in Eikev — 10 segments
Segment 1
“For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, the great God,” and so forth. As we have learnt: “and the likeness of their faces was the face of a man” (Ezek. 1, 10). These are not like those cherubs; these are great faces, and the cherubs are small faces, like a child. The face of a man: every form is comprised in them, because they are great faces, and there are portrayed in them engraved figures, in the engravings of the Ineffable Name, on four sides: east, west, north, south.
Segment 2
Michael is inscribed with an inscription to the side of the south, and all the faces look toward the face of a man: the face of a lion, the face of an eagle, the face of an ox. Adam is male and female, and it is not called adam except so. And from it forms are portrayed: “the chariots of God are twice ten thousand, thousands upon thousands” (Ps. 68, 18).
Segment 3
Shinan: the whole of all the forms — ox, eagle, lion; and the Nun, this is adam. An expanse that is comprised as one, in the mystery (of the male) of male and female. And all the thousands and myriads, all of them go out from these, from the mystery of shinan. From these figures each and every one is distinguished in their own sides, as is fitting for them.
