Segment 1א׳
רעיא מהימנא פִּקּוּדָא לְמִבְנֵי מַקְדְּשָׁא לְתַתָּא, כְּגַוְונָא דְּבֵי מַקְדְּשָׁא דִּלְעֵילָּא, כְּמָה דְאַתְּ אָמֵר, מָכוֹן לְשִׁבְתְּךָ פָּעַלְתָּ יְיָ'. דְּאִצְטְרִיךְ לְמִבְנֵי בֵּי מַקְדְּשָׁא לְתַתָּא, וּלְצַלָּאָה בְּגַוֵּיהּ צְלוֹתָא בְּכָל יוֹמָא, לְמִפְלַח לֵיהּ לְקוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא, דְּהָא צְלוֹתָא אִקְרֵי עֲבוֹדָה.
This implies the necessity of building a sanctuary below, corresponding to the Sanctuary above, wherein the Holy One is daily served and worshipped. Now prayer itself has the character of service, and is called so.
Segment 2ב׳
וְהַהוּא בֵּי כְּנִשְׁתָּא, אִצְטְרִיךְ לְמִבְנֵי לֵיהּ בִּשְׁפִירוּ סַגְיָא, וּלְאַתְקְנָא לֵיהּ בְּכָל תִּקּוּנִין, דְּהָא בֵּי כְּנִשְׁתָּא דִּלְתַתָּא, קַיְּימָא לָקֳבֵל בֵּי כְּנִשְׁתָּא דִּלְעֵילָּא.
A synagogue should be a handsome structure, beautifully decorated, for it is an earthly copy of a heavenly prototype.
Segment 3ג׳
בֵּית הַמִקְדָּשׁ לְתַתָּא, אִיהוּ קָאִים כְּגַוְונָא דְּבֵית הַמִּקְדָּשׁ דִּלְעֵילָּא, דְּקָאִים דָּא לָקֳבֵל דָּא. וְהַהוּא בֵּי מַקְדְּשָׁא, כָּל תִּקּוּנוֹי, וְכָל פּוּלְחָנוֹי, וְכָל אִינּוּן מָאנִין, וְשַׁמָּשִׁין, כֻּלְּהוּ אִינּוּן כְּגַוְונָא דִּלְעֵילָּא. מַשְׁכְּנָא דְּקָא עָבֵד מֹשֶׁה בְּמַדְבְּרָא, כֹּלָּא הֲוָה כְּגַוְונָא דִּלְעֵילָּא.
The Temple below had its counterpart in the Temple above, and everything there, holy vessels and holy ministers, corresponded to something above. The same was true of the Tabernacle which Moses erected in the desert.
