זוהר, בראשית נ׳Zohar, Bereshit 50

Segment 1א׳

אָמַר רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן, הָא תָּנִינָן דְּכַד בְּרָא קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא עָלְמָא גָּלִיף בְּגִילוּפֵי דְּרָזָא דִּמְהֵימְנוּתָא גּוֹ טְהִירִין בְּרָזִין עִלָּאִין. וְגָלִיף לְעֵילָא וְגָלִיף לְתַתָּא וְכֹלָּא בְּרָזָא חָדָא. וְעֲבִיד עָלְמָא תַּתָּאָה כְּגַוְונָא דְעָלְמָא עִלָּאָה. וְדָא קָאִים לָקֳבֵיל דָּא. לְמֶהוֵי כֹּלָּא חָד בְּיִחוּדָא חָדָא. וּבְגִין כָּךְ קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא גָּלִיף גְּלִיפֵי דְאַתְוָון עֵילָא וְתַתָּא. וּבְהוּ בְּרָא עָלְמִין.

R. Simeon said: We have learnt that when the Holy One, blessed be He, created the world, He engraved engravings of the mystery of faith within the lights, in supernal mysteries. He engraved above and He engraved below, and all in one mystery. And He made the lower world after the pattern of the upper world, and this stands over against that, so that all should be one in a single union. And therefore the Holy One, blessed be He, engraved engravings of letters above and below, and with them He created worlds.

Segment 2ב׳

וְתָּא חֲזֵי, כְּגַוְונָא דְּעֲבַד קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא עָלְמָא הָכִי נָמֵי בְּרָא לֵיהּ לְאָדָם קַדְמָאָה. פָּתַח וְאָמַר, (הושע ו׳:ז׳) וְהֵמָּה כְּאָדָם עָבְרוּ בְּרִית וְגו'. דְּהָא קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא אַעֲטַר לֵיהּ בְּעִטְּרִין עִלָּאִין. וּבְרָא לֵיהּ בְּשִׁית סִטְרִין דְּעָלְמָא. לְמֶהוֵי שְׁלִים בְּכֹלָּא. וְכֹלָּא זָעָאן וְדָחֲלָן מִקַּמֵיהּ. דְּהָא כַּד אִתְבְּרֵי אָדָם אִתְבְּרֵי בְּדִיוּקְנָא עִלָּאָה. וְהֲווּ מִסְתַּכְּלָן בְּהַהוּא דִּיוּקְנָא וְזָעָאן וְדָחֲלָן מִקַּמֵּיהּ. וּלְבָתַר אָעִיל לֵיהּ קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא בְּגִנְתָּא דְעֵדֶן לְאִתְעַדְּנָא תַּמָּן בְּעִדּוּנִין עִלָאִין. וְהֲווּ מַלְאָכִין עִלָּאִין סָחֲרִין לֵיהּ וּמְשַׁמְּשִׁין קַמֵּיהּ. וְרָזִין דְּמָרֵיהוֹן הֲווּ אוֹדְעִין לֵיהּ.

Observe: as the Holy One, blessed be He, made the world, so too did He create the first man. He opened his discourse and said: “But they like Adam have transgressed the covenant” (Hos. 6, 7). For the Holy One, blessed be He, crowned him with supernal crowns and created him with the six directions of the world, so that he should be complete in all; and all trembled and were afraid before him. For when Adam was created he was created in the supernal image, and they would look upon that image and tremble and be afraid before him. And afterwards the Holy One, blessed be He, brought him into the Garden of Eden, to take delight there in supernal delights; and supernal angels surrounded him and ministered before him, and they made known to him the mysteries of their Master.

Segment 3ג׳

תָּא חֲזֵי, בְּשַׁעֲתָא דְּאָעִיל לֵיהּ קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא לְגִנְתָּא דְעֵדֶן, הֲוָה חָמֵי וְאִסְתַּכַּל מִתַּמָּן כָּל רָזִין עִלָּאִין וְכָל חָכְמְתָא. בְּגִין לְמִנְדַע וּלְאִסְתַּכָּלָא בִּיקָרָא דְּמָרֵיהּ.

Observe: at the hour when the Holy One, blessed be He, brought him into the Garden of Eden, he saw and contemplated from there all the supernal mysteries and all wisdom, so as to know and to contemplate the glory of his Master.
