Segment 1א׳

וַיַּרְא אֱלֹהִים אֶת הָאוֹר כִּי טוֹב. תְּנַן כָּל חֶלְמָא דְקַיְימָא בְּקִיּוּמָא דְּכִי טוֹב שְׁלָמָא הוּא לְעֵילָא וְתַתָּא. חָמֵי אַתְוָון כְּפוּם אָרְחוֹי כָּל חַד וְחַד. חָמָא ט' טַב לֵיהּ טַב לְחֶלְמֵיהּ דְּהָא אוֹרַיְיתָא פָּתַח בֵּיהּ כִּי טוֹב. נָהִיר מִסְּיָיפֵי עָלְמָא לִסְיָיפֵי עָלְמָא. ט' טַב. טוֹב הוּא, טַב נְהִירוּ בְּאַשְׁלָמוּתָא.

AND GOD SAW THE LIGHT THAT IT WAS GOOD. We have learnt that every dream which contains the term tob (good) presages peace above and below, provided the letters are seen in their proper order…

Segment 2ב׳

ט' תְּשִׁיעָאָה דְּכֹלָּא. אָת דְּאִתְנְהִיר מֵעִלָּאָה רִאשִׁיתָא וְאִתְכְּלִיל בֵּיהּ וְאִתְעֲבִיד בִּסְתִימוּ דִּנְקוּדָה רָזָא דְּי' דְּהִיא נְקוּדָה חָדָא. ו' מֵחֵילֵיהּ נָפִיק. בֵּיהּ אִתְעֲבִיד שָׁמַיִם. כַּד אִסְתַּיָּים בִּנְקוּדָה חַד וְאִתְגְּנִיז גּוֹ, אִתְנַהֲרָא ב'. מִנֵּיהּ נָפְקוּ עִלָּאָה וְתַתָּאָה. עִלָאָה טְמִירָא. תַּתָּאָה אִתְגַּלְיָיא בְּרָזָא דִתְרֵין. וְקַיְימָא בְּחֵילָא דִלְעֵילָא.

Teth is the ninth of all: a letter illumined from the supernal beginning and comprised within it, and made in the concealment of the point, the mystery of the Yod, which is a single point. The Vau issues from its power, and by it the heavens were made. When it is completed in one point and hidden within, the Beth is illumined. From it issued an upper and a lower: the upper concealed, the lower disclosed in the mystery of two, and standing by the power of that which is above.

Segment 3ג׳

וְדָא הוּא טוֹ"ב. אִלֵּין תְּלַת אַתְוָון טוֹ"ב אִתְכְּלִילוּ לְבָתַר לְצַדִּיקָא דְעָלְמָא דְּכָלִיל כֹּלָּא לְעֵילָא וְתַתָּא כְּמָא דְאַתְּ אָמֵר, (ישעיהו ג׳:י׳) אִמְרוּ צַדִּיק כִּי טוֹב. בְּגִין דִּנְהִירוּ עִלָּאָה כְּלִילָא בֵּיהּ דִּכְתִיב, (תהילים קמ״ה:ט׳) טוֹב יְיָ לַכֹּל וְרַחֲמָיו עַל כָּל מַעֲשָׂיו. לַכֹּל כְּתִיב דָּא סְתָמָא דְמִלָּה בְּגִין לְאַנְהָרָא יוֹמָא חַד דְּנָהִיר לְכֹלָּא. עִלָּאָה עַל כֹּלָּא. עַד כָּאן סְתָמָא דְמִלִּין.

These three letters were afterwards combined to signify “the Righteous one (Zaddik) of the world”, as it is written, “Say of the righteous one that he is good”, because the supernal radiance is contained therein.
