Segment 1א׳

(דניאל י״ב:י׳) וְהַמַשְׂכִּילִים יָבִינוּ, אִינּוּן מָארֵי קַבָּלָה, דְּאִתְּמַר בְּהוֹן (דניאל י״ב:ג׳) וְהַמַשְׂכִּילִים יַזְהִירוּ כְּזֹהַר הָרָקִיעַ. אִלֵּין אִינּוּן דְּקָא מִשְׁתַּדְּלִין בְּזֹהַר דָּא, דְּאִקְרֵי סֵפֶר הַזֹּהַר, דְּאִיהוּ כְּתֵיבַת נֹחַ, דְּמִתְכַּנְּשִׁין בָּהּ שְׁנַיִם מֵעִיר, וְשֶׁבַע מִמַּלְכוּתָא. וּלְזִמְנִין אֶחָד מֵעִיר, וּשְׁנַיִם מִמִּשְׁפָּחָה. דִּבְהוֹן יִתְקָיֵּים (שמות א׳:כ״ב) כָּל הַבֵּן הַיִּלּוֹד הַיְּאוֹרָה תַּשְׁלִיכוּהוּ. וְדָא אוֹרָה דְּסִפְרָא דָּא, וְכֹלָּא עַל סִיבָּה דִּילָךְ.

“And they that are wise shall understand” (Dan. 12, 10) — these are the masters of Kabbalah, of whom it is said, “And they that are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament” (Dan. 12, 3). These are they who labour in this Zohar, which is called the Book of Zohar, which is like the ark of Noah, in which are gathered two from a city and seven from a kingdom, and sometimes one from a city and two from a family; in whom there shall be established, “Every son that is born you shall cast into the river (ha-yeorah)” (Ex. 1, 22). And that is the light (orah) of this book; and all is on your account.

Segment 2ב׳

וּמַאן גָּרִים דָּא. עוֹרֵב דְּאַנְתְּ תְּהֵא בְּהַהוּא זִמְנָא, כַּיּוֹנָה. דְּשָׁלִיחַ אַחֲרָא דְּאִקְרֵי בִּשְׁמָךְ, כָּעוֹרֵב דְּאִשְׁתְּלַח בְּקַדְמִיתָא, וְלָא אִתְהַדָר בִּשְׁלִיחוּתָא, דְּאִשְׁתְּדַּל בַּשְּׁקָצִּים, דְּאִתְּמַר בְּהוֹן, עַמֵּי הָאָרֶץ שֶׁקֶץ. בְּגִין מָמוֹנָא דִּלְהוֹן, וְלָא אִשְׁתָּדַּל בִּשְׁלִיחוּתֵיהּ לְאָהַדְרָא לְצַּדִיקַיָּיא בְּתִיוּבְתָא. כְּאִילּוּ לָא עָבִיד שְׁלִיחוּתָא דְּמָארֵיהּ.

And who caused this? The raven — that you should be at that time like the dove. For another messenger, who is called by your name, is like the raven that was sent at the first and did not return with his mission, because he busied himself with the abominable things, of whom it is said, “The ignorant are an abomination” — for the sake of their money; and he did not labour at his mission, to bring the righteous back in repentance. It is as though he did not perform the mission of his Master.

Segment 3ג׳

וּבָךְ יִתְקַיֵּים רָזָא דְּיוֹנָה, דְּעָאל בְּעִמְקִין דִּתְהוֹמֵי יַמָּא, הָכִי תֵּיעוּל אַנְתְּ בַּעֲמִיקוּ דִּתְהוֹמֵי אוֹרַיְיתָא, הֲדָא הוּא דִכְתִיב, (יונה ב׳:ד׳) וַתַּשְׁלִיכֵנִי מְצּוּלָה בִּלְבַב יַמִּים. וְיִהוֹן חָכְמָה חֶסֶד נֶצַּח לִיְמִין. דִּבְגִּינַיְיהוּ אָמַר דָּוִד, (תהילים קי״ח:ט״ו-ט״ז) יְמִין יְיָ עוֹשָׂה חָיִל יְמִין יְיָ רוֹמֵמָה יְמִין יְיָ עוֹשָׂה חָיִל. וּתְלַת מִשְּׂמָאלָא יִתְקַשְּׁרוּן כַּחֲדָא, דְּאִינּוּן בִּינָה גְּבוּרָה הוֹד. וְג' דַּרְגִּין דְּאֶמְצָּעִיתָא, כֶּתֶר תִּפְאֶרֶת יְסוֹד, דַּאֲחִידָן בִּימִינָא וּשְׂמָאלָא.

And in you there shall be established the mystery of Jonah, who entered into the depths of the abysses of the sea: so shall you enter into the deep of the abysses of the Torah. This is what is written, “For You cast me into the depth, in the heart of the seas” (Jonah 2, 4). And chochmah, chesed (lovingkindness), netzach (victory) shall be to the right; and because of them David said, “The right hand of the Lord does valiantly; the right hand of the Lord is exalted; the right hand of the Lord does valiantly” (Ps. 118, 15-16). And three from the left shall be bound together as one, which are binah, gevurah, hod (majesty). And the three middle grades, keter (crown), tiferet (beauty), yesod (foundation), which are held in the right and in the left.
