רַבִּי חֲנִינָא פָּרִישׁ כָּל חַד עַל קִיוּמָא. שָׂשׂוֹן חַד. שִׂמְחָה תְרֵין. חָתָן תְלָת. כַלָּה אַרְבַּע. גִּילָה דִּיצָה אַהֲבָה אַחְוָה שָׁלוֹם וְרֵיעוּת י' כְּנֶגֶד עֲשָׂרָה מַאֲמָרוֹת שְׁבָּהֵן נִבְרָא הָעוֹלָם. ע"כ:
R. Hanina explained each one according to its standing: gladness, one; joy, two; bridegroom, three; bride, four; rejoicing, mirth, love, brotherhood, peace and fellowship — ten, corresponding to the ten utterances by which the world was created. (Thus far.)
