זי"ן מַאי עֲבִידְתֵּיהּ, כְּמִנְיָן יְמֵי הַשָׁבוּעַ. לְלַמֶּדְךָ שֶׁכָּל יוֹם יֶשׁ לוֹ כֹּחַ. וּמָאי עֲבִידְתֵּיהּ הַכָא לְלַמֶּדְךָ שְׁכְּשֵׁם שֶׁיֶּשׁ חָכְמָה גְּדוֹלָה בַּאוֹזֶן לְאֵין תַּכְלִית, כָּךְ יֶשׁ הַכֹּחַ הַהוּא בְּכָל הַאֵבָרִים, וּמָאי אֵבָרִים, שֶׁבַע שֶׁיֶּשׁ בָּאָדָם. דִכְתִיב כִּי בְּצֶלֶם אֱלֹהִים עָשָׂה אֶת הָאָדָם. ע"כ:
Zayin — what is its work? It is the number of the days of the week, to teach you that every day has its own power. And what is its work here? To teach you that just as there is great wisdom in the ear, without end, so is that power in all the limbs. And what are the limbs? The seven that are in a man. As it is written, “for in the image of God made He man.” (Thus far.)
