Se’if 1א׳

One who takes a fee to be an inspector of firstborn animals — one does not slaughter on his word unless he was a great expert, and the sages knew of him that there is none like him, and they fixed a fee for him for the inspection and the visit. And they must give him his fee whether the blemish is permanent and he permits it, or whether it is not permanent. And they give him a fee for an animal only once, and he inspects it for ever, whenever they bring it, so that he should not come to suspicion.

Se’if 2ב׳

A sage does not inspect a firstborn for himself.

Se’if 3ג׳

One does not inspect blemishes on a festival day. But if he saw it on the eve of the festival day, he may investigate about it on the festival day how the blemish fell in it.
