Se’if 1א׳

מִי שֶׁאָסַר עַצְמוֹ מִכָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל, אָסוּר לִקְנוֹת מֵהֶם וְלִמְכֹּר לָהֶם זַבִּינָא מְצִיעָא דְּאִית בֵּהּ הֲנָאָה לַלּוֹקֵחַ וְלַמּוֹכֵר, אֶלָּא לוֹקֵחַ בְּיוֹתֵר וּמוֹכֵר בְּפָחוֹת. וְאִם אָסַר הֲנָאָתוֹ עֲלֵיהֶם, לוֹקֵחַ מֵהֶם בְּפָחוֹת וּמוֹכֵר בְּיוֹתֵר, אִם יִשְׁמְעוּ לוֹ. וְזַבִּינָא חֲרִיפָא הוּא הֲנָאַת הַלּוֹקֵחַ וְלֹא הֲנָאַת הַמּוֹכֵר. הִלְכָּךְ, אִם אָסַר עַצְמוֹ מֵהֶם, יִקְנֶנּוּ מֵהֶם בְּיוֹתֵר, וּמוֹכֵר לָהֶם שָׁוֶה בְּשָׁוֶה. וְאִם אֲסָרָם עָלָיו, יִמְכְּרֶנּוּ לָהֶם בְּיוֹתֵר, אִם יִשְׁמְעוּ לוֹ, וְיִקְנֶנּוּ מֵהֶם שָׁוֶה בְּשָׁוֶה. וְזַבִּינָא דְּרָמִי בְּאַפֵּהּ, הָוֵי הֲנָאַת הַמּוֹכֵר וְלֹא הֲנָאַת הַלּוֹקֵחַ. הִלְכָּךְ, אִם אָסַר עַצְמוֹ מֵהֶם יִמְכְּרֶנּוּ לָהֶם בְּפָחוֹת, וְיִקְנֶנּוּ מֵהֶם שָׁוֶה בְּשָׁוֶה. וְאִם אֲסָרָם עָלָיו, יִקְנֶנּוּ מֵהֶם בְּפָחוֹת אִם יִשְׁמְעוּ לוֹ, וְיִמְכְּרֶנּוּ לָהֶם שָׁוֶה בְּשָׁוֶה.

One who forbade himself from all Israelites is forbidden to buy from them and to sell to them a middling sale, in which there is benefit to the buyer and to the seller; rather he buys for more and sells for less. And if he forbade his benefit upon them, he buys from them for less and sells for more, if they will listen to him. And a quick sale is the benefit of the buyer and not the benefit of the seller. Therefore, if he forbade himself from them, he shall buy it from them for more, and sells to them at even value. And if he forbade them upon himself, he shall sell it to them for more, if they will listen to him, and shall buy it from them at even value. And a sale that lies upon his hands is the benefit of the seller and not the benefit of the buyer. Therefore, if he forbade himself from them, he shall sell it to them for less, and shall buy it from them at even value. And if he forbade them upon himself, he shall buy it from them for less, if they will listen to him, and shall sell it to them at even value.

Se’if 2ב׳

אָסַר הֲנִיָּתָם עָלָיו, הֲרֵי זֶה מַשְׁאִילָן וּמַלְוֶה אוֹתָם, אֲבָל הוּא לוֹ יִשְׁאַל וְלֹא יִלְוֶה מֵהֶם. וְאִם אָסַר הֲנָאָתוֹ עֲלֵיהֶם וַהֲנָאָתָם עָלָיו, לֹא יַשְׁאִיל וְלֹא יַלְוֶה לָהֶם, וְלֹא הֵם מִמֶּנּוּ.

He forbade their benefit upon himself — this one lends them articles and lends them money; but he shall not borrow an article and shall not borrow money from them. And if he forbade his benefit upon them and their benefit upon himself, he shall not lend them an article and shall not lend them money, nor they to him.

Se’if 3ג׳

מִי שֶׁאָסַר הֲנָאָתוֹ עַל הַכֹּהֲנִים וְעַל הַלְּוִיִּם, בָּאִים וְנוֹטְלִין תְּרוּמוֹתָיו וּמַעְשְׂרוֹתָיו בְּעַל כָּרְחוֹ. וְאִם אָמַר: כֹּהֲנִים אֵלּוּ וּלְוִיִּם אֵלּוּ, יִתֵּן לְכֹהֲנִים וּלְוִיִּם אֲחֵרִים; וְכֵן הַדִּין בְּמַתְּנוֹת עֲנִיִּים לַעֲנִיִּים.

One who forbade his benefit upon the priests and upon the Levites — they come and take his terumot and his tithes against his will. And if he said: these priests and these Levites, he gives to other priests and Levites. And the same law applies in the gifts of the poor, to the poor.
