Se’if 1א׳
A vow is invalid unless one's heart and lips (intention and speech) are aligned. Therefore if one intended to say 'wheat bread' and actually said 'barley bread', both kinds are permitted. If one, however, intended to say 'wheat bread' (RAMA: or barley bread) and just said "bread", they are only forbidden to eat wheat bread. (RAMA: or only barley bread.) And if one vows according to the intention of others, the definitions follow those of the other, and the vow applies to these.
Se’if 2ב׳
One who vows in their dream, it is meaningless and they don't need it to be annulled. However, there are those who say that it has to be annulled by ten literate judges (RAMA: And they find a point of regret, as if they had vowed awake.) And this [second] opinion should be heeded. RAMA: However, if it is difficult to find ten literate judges, one can then do it with three, as usual.
Se’if 3ג׳
One who vows and retracts within the space of an utterance, or upon whom others protested within the space of an utterance and he accepted their words within the space of an utterance of his vow (the reasoning of the Rav, and by this the objection of the Raavad against the Rambam is settled, and not like the Beit Yosef) — it is not a vow; and that is where he says so with his mouth, but if he said: I have retracted, in his heart, it is nothing.
