Se’if 1א׳
The price of an idol in the hand of an Israelite who sold it is forbidden. But if an idolater (oved kokhavim — the standing term for a gentile) sold it, the money is permitted, even if he sold it in order that it be worshipped. And that is specifically where the matter is known, that he sold it to meet his own needs with its price; but if it is not known, there is ground for concern lest he sold it in order to buy other idols with its price, and the money is then set aside for an idol and is forbidden. And see above, the end of siman 132.
Se’if 2ב׳
There are those who say that if an Israelite has in his hand yayin nesach (wine poured out as an idolatrous libation) and an idol, and he sold them to an idolater on credit (that is, with the payment deferred), and the idolater sold them to another before he paid this Israelite, the money is permitted after the fact.
