Se’if 1א׳
Just as idols are forbidden in benefit, so all the benefits that come from an idol are forbidden. Even if he burnt it, it is forbidden to derive benefit from its coal and from its ash. But it is permitted to derive benefit from its flame.
Se’if 2ב׳
A knife of an idol with which he slaughtered — the slaughtering is permitted, because he is one who spoils. And if the knife is new, or old and he made it white-hot to clear it of the prohibition that is in it, it is permitted even at the outset (above, siman 10). And if it was an animal at the point of death (mesukenet), the slaughtering is forbidden, because he is one who mends, and this mending is from the benefit of the appurtenances of an idol. And likewise it is forbidden to cut meat with it, because he is one who mends. And if he cut by way of loss and spoiling, it is permitted.
Se’if 3ג׳
If he took from an idol a weaver's shuttle (that is, a piece of wood or of bone whose head is sharp, with which they beat down the cloth when they weave it, so that the upper threads may be parted from the lower) and wove the garment with it, it is forbidden in benefit. If it became mixed with other garments, he carries the value of that garment to the Dead Sea, and the rest of the garments are all permitted.
