Se’if 1א׳

It is permitted to deposit wine and to send it in the hand of an idolater (oved kokhavim — the standing term for a gentile) if it is sealed with a seal within a seal, or a key and a seal. And this applies to a barrel of earthenware, but not to a barrel of wood, because they are able to bring out wine from between the boards and it will not be noticed; and all the more so with wineskins, from which they can easily bring out wine from between the stitches. And there is no remedy for them save that he put all the wooden barrels, or the whole wineskin, into a sack that has no stitching on the outside, and seal the mouth of the sack. Hagah [Rema]: And there are those who permit even with a barrel of wood, and they are not concerned lest he bring it out from between the boards (Mordechai, the beginning of chapter "They do not station", and Beit Yosef in the name of Sefer haTerumah and the Semag and the Rashba, and in the Issur v'Heter haAroch), and so is the practice; provided that he take care that the bung be stopped up as is fitting, and likewise that there be no tap there — rather he shall cut off all the taps and put leather over the bung, and the tap fixed with nails, and he shall write letters, half of them upon the leather and half of them upon the taps, so that if the idolater lifts the leather he will not know how to set the leather back in line as it was at the first (Mordechai, chapter "Rabbi Yishmael", and Beit Yosef in the name of the Tosafot). And if he found a knife in a barrel with which he brought out wine from between the boards, see above, siman 124.

Se’if 2ב׳

If he deposited it in the hand of an idolater with one seal, it is forbidden for drinking and permitted in benefit — and that is where he set apart a corner for it. Hagah [Rema]: And there are those who have written that after the fact there is ground to permit even with one seal (Beit Yosef according to the opinion of Rabbeinu Tam, and in the Aroch, kelal 22), and there is no need to recognise his seal, unless he sees that his seal is spoiled, in which case it is forbidden (this too there); but he need not examine after this, and so is the practice, to be lenient. And see above, siman 118.

Se’if 3ג׳

Our own cooked wine, and likewise our own wine that they mixed with other things, such as honey and oil, and likewise our own vinegar — it is permitted to deposit it in the hand of an idolater with one seal.
