They take out two scrolls. In the first, six are called in the portion of Acharei Mot, up to "And he did as the Lord commanded"; and if it falls on the Sabbath, seven are called; and the maftir reads in the second, in Pinchas, "And on the tenth of the month"; and the haftarah (the portion from the Prophets read after the Torah) is in Isaiah: "And he shall say, Cast up, cast up, clear the way", up to "for the mouth of the Lord has spoken".

And the custom is to circumcise after Ashrei (Minhagim). And if it is in a place where one must go out of the synagogue, they do not circumcise until after the Torah scroll has been returned, and they go back and say Kaddish.

They recite the blessing over the circumcision without a cup; and there are those who say that they recite the blessing over a cup and give it to the child who has been circumcised, and so is the practice.
