Se’if 1א׳

אֶחָד מֵהַדְּבָרִים שֶׁשּׂוֹנֵא הָקָּבָּ"ה, הַמַּשְׁתִּין בִּפְנֵי מִטָּתוֹ, עָרֹם. הַמַּשְׁתִּין לִפְנֵי מִטָּתוֹ, עָרֹם, מֵבִיא לִידֵי עֲנִיּוּת; וְלֹא אֲמָרָן, אֶלָּא דִּמְהַדֵּר אַפֵּיהּ לְפוּרְיָא (פי' לַמִּטָּה), אֲבָל לְבָרַאי לֵית לָן בָּהּ; וְדִמְהַדֵּר אַפֵּיהּ לְפוּרְיָא נָמֵי לֹא אֲמָרָן, אֶלָּא בְּאַרְעָא, אֲבָל בְּמַנָּא לֵית לָן בָּהּ.

One of the things that the Holy One, blessed be He, hates: one who urinates before his bed naked. One who urinates before his bed naked brings himself to poverty. And we said this only where he turns his face toward the couch (that is, toward the bed), but outward we have no concern with it; and where he turns his face toward the couch, too, we said this only onto the ground, but into a vessel we have no concern with it.
