המקבל שדה לזמן ומת והניח בן. ובו סעיף אחד: המקבל שדה מחבירו לזמן ידוע ומת והניח בן לא יאמר תן לי מה שאכל אביך וכן הבן לא יאמר לו תן לי מה שעשה אבי אלא שמין מה שעשה עד עת מותו ויתן לו אפילו שהתנ' עמו לזמן קבוע:

One who receives a field for a time, and died and left a son; it contains one se'if. One who receives a field from his fellow for a known time, and died and left a son — he shall not say, "Give me what your father ate"; and likewise the son shall not say to him, "Give me what my father made"; rather, they appraise what he made up to the time of his death, and he gives it to him, even though he had stipulated with him for a fixed time.
