Chapter 2 of 8 in Firstlings — 19 halachot
Halacha 1
All the permanent blemishes that render consecrated animals unfit and for which they are redeemed — if one of them befell a firstborn, it is slaughtered on account of it in any place. And we have already explained those blemishes in the Laws of Things Forbidden on the Altar: those of them that can occur in a male are sixty-seven.
Halacha 2
And all the things we enumerated there on account of which the offering is not of the choicest, and for which consecrated animals are neither offered nor redeemed — so too a firstborn is not slaughtered on account of them and is not offered; rather it stands until a permanent blemish befalls it. So too if a temporary blemish befell a firstborn, it is not slaughtered anywhere and is not offered; rather it grazes until a permanent blemish befalls it, and it is slaughtered on account of that.
Halacha 3
So too if a transgression was committed with it, or it killed on the testimony of one witness or by the word of its owners, or it was set aside for idolatry or was itself worshipped — it grazes until a blemish befalls it, as we have explained in the Laws of Things Forbidden on the Altar.
