Segment 1א׳

רעיא מהימנא פִּקּוּדָא דָּא לְהָבִיא קָרְבָּן עַל סַנְהֶדְּרֵי גְּדוֹלָה שֶׁטָעוּ, תָּנָאִין ואֲמוֹרָאִין ע' סַנְהֶדְּרֵי גְּדוֹלָה הָיוּ, וּמֹשֶׁה עָלַיְיהוּ. וְע' סַנְהֶדְּרֵי קְטַנָּה הֲווֹ, ואַהֲרֹן עָלַיְיהוּ. וּבְגִין דָּא אָמְרוּ מָארֵי מַתְנִיתִין, מֹשֶׁה שׁוּשְׁבִינָא דְּמַלְכָּא הֲוָה, וְדָא תִּפְאֶרֶת, מִתַּמָּן סַנְהֶדְּרֵי גְּדוֹלָה. אַהֲרֹן שׁוּשְׁבִינָא דְּמַטְרוֹנִיתָא, וְדָא מַלְכוּת, הֵ"א זְעֵירָא קָרֵינָן לֵיהּ, כְּגוֹן (בראשית כ״ט:י״ח) אֶעֱבָדְךָ שֶׁבַע שָׁנִים בְּרָחֵל בִּתְּךָ הַקְּטַנָּה. וְעַל שְׁמָהּ אִתְקְרֵי סַנְהֶדְּרֵי קְטַנָּה.

Ra’aya Meheimna. This precept: to bring an offering for the Great Sanhedrin that erred. Tannaim and Amoraim: the Great Sanhedrin were seventy, and Moses over them; and the Small Sanhedrin were seventy, and Aaron over them. And therefore the Masters of the Mishnah said: Moses was the friend of the King, and this is tiferet — from there the Great Sanhedrin. Aaron was the friend of the Matrona, and this is malchut; we call her the small He, as in “I will serve you seven years for Rachel your younger daughter” (Gen. 29, 18). And after her name the Small Sanhedrin is called.

Segment 2ב׳

וּמִתַּמָּן הֲווֹ ידְעִין סַנְהֶדְרִין שִׁבְעִין לָשׁוֹן, דְּאִינּוּן שִׁבְעִים פָּנִים לַתּוֹרָה, דְּאִית שִׁבְעִים לָשׁוֹן מִסִּטְרָא דְּמַלְכוּת הָרְשָׁעָה וְכוּ', כֹּלָּא בְּפֵרוּדָא. הֲדָא הוּא דִכְתִיב, (בראשית י׳:ה׳) מֵאֵלֶּה נִפְרְדוּ אִיֵּי הַגּוֹיִם בְּאַרְצּוֹתָם לִלְשׁוֹנוֹתָם כֻּלְּהוּ שִׁבְעִין לָשׁוֹן בְּפֵרוּדָא דָּא מִן דָּא.

And from there the Snahedrin knew 70 languages, which they are the 70 faces (interpretations) of the Torah. Because they are 70 languages from the side of the evil kingdom, (and) all of them are separate (unrelated languages). That is what it is written (Genesis 10:5): From these the maritime nations split up. in their lands, to their languages (Translators note: the Zoher uses here a different text for the verse than the traditional text), all of these 70 languages are are in separation from each other.

Segment 3ג׳

אֲבָל בְּאוֹרַיְיתָא, ע' פָּנִים לַתּוֹרָה בְּלָשׁוֹן חַד. וְדָא יְסוֹד. ו' הֲלָכָה חֲדָא, חָכְמָה זְעֵירָא מַלְכוּת, דְּבָהּ שִׁבְעִין לָשׁוֹן, כְּחוּשְׁבָּן סוֹד, מִן יְסוֹד. וִיסוֹד אִיהוּ לָשׁוֹן הַקֹּדֶשׁ, סוֹד הַמֶרְכָּבָה, בְּשִׁבְעִין קַתֶּדְרָאִין, עָלַייהוּ אִתְּמַר כָּל הָעוֹנֶה אָמֵן יְהֵא שְׁמֵיהּ רַבָּא מְבָרַךְ בְּכָל כֹּחוֹ, קוֹרְעִין לוֹ גְּזַר דִּינוֹ שֶׁל שִׁבְעִים שָׁנָה. לָשׁוֹן חַד, אִיהוּ שִׁבְעִים לָשׁוֹן, עַל מִדָּה זְעֵירָא דְּחָכְמָה זְעֵירָא, דְּאִיהִי י' עַל מִדָּה זְעֵירָא. עַל חָכְמָה זְעֵירָא דְּאִיהִי י', עַל מִדָּה זְעֵירָא דְּחָכְמָה ב', תְּרֵין שִׂפְוון, דִּבְּהוֹן דַּעַת וּתְבוּנָה, בְּהוֹן אִשְׁתְּלִימוּ שִׁבְעִין וּתְרֵין. But in the Torah there are seventy faces to the Torah in one tongue, and this is yesod. Vav is one halachah; the small chochmah is malchut, in which are seventy tongues, as the numerical value of sod (secret), from yesod. And yesod is the holy tongue, the secret of the Chariot, with seventy seats, concerning which it was said: Whoever answers “Amen, may His great Name be blessed” with all his strength, they tear up for him the decree of his sentence of seventy years. One tongue is seventy tongues, upon the small measure of the small chochmah, which is yod upon the small measure. Upon the small chochmah, which is yod, upon the small measure of chochmah, two: two lips, in which are knowledge and understanding; in them the seventy-two are completed. (End of Ra'aya Meheimna)
