Segment 1א׳

סתרי תורה (בראשית כ״ח:י״ב) וַיַּחֲלם וְהִנֵּה סֻלָּם מֻצָּב אַרְצָּה וְרֹאשׁוֹ מַגִּיעַ הַשָׁמַיְמָה. חֶלְמָא, מַדְרֵגָא שְׁתִּיתָּאָה מֵאִינוּן דַּרְגִּין תְּרֵין דִּנְבוּאָה, עַד הַהוּא דַרְגָּא, שִׁיתּ דַּרְגִּין אִינוּן, וְעַל דָּא, חֶלְמָא חַד מִשִׁתִּין דַּרְגִּין דִּנְבוּאָה. סֻלָּם, חָמָא בְּנוֹי דְּזַמִּינִין לְקַבְּלָא אוֹרַיְיתָּא, בְּטוּרָא דְסִינַי. סֻלָּם דָּא סִינַי. (ס"א בגימטריא) בְּגִין דְּאִיהוּ נָעִיץ בְּאַרְעָא, וְחָשִׁיב בִּסְלִיקוּ לִשְׁמַיָא. וְכָל רְתִּיכִין (קדישין) וּמַשִׁרְיָין עִלָּאִין, כֻּלְּהוּ נָחֲתֵּי (נחתו) תַּמָּן בַּהֲדֵי קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךָ הוּא, כַּד יָהִיב לוֹן אוֹרַיְיתָּא.

Sitrei Torah. AND HE DREAMED, AND BEHOLD A LADDER SET UP ON THE EARTH, AND THE TOP OF IT REACHED TO HEAVEN. A dream is from the sixth grade of those grades. Two are of prophecy; up to that grade there are six grades, and therefore a dream is one sixtieth of the grades of prophecy. A ladder: he saw his sons, who were to receive the Torah at Mount Sinai. This ladder is Sinai, because it is planted in the earth and is reckoned in its ascent to heaven. And all the chariots and the supernal hosts, all of them came down there with the Holy One, blessed be He, when He gave them the Torah.

Segment 2ב׳

וְכלָּא חָמָא. חָמָא מַטטרון, סָבָא דְבֵיתָּא, דְּשַׁלִּיט בְּכָל דִּילֵיהּ. דְּאִיהוּ קָאי בְּשָׁלְטָנוּ על (האי) עַלְמָא. בְּשָׁלְטָנוּ בְּשֵׁם שד"י. וסָלִיק לְעֵילָא, בִּסְלִיקוּ דשמָא דְּמָרֵיהּ הוי"ה, אֲתַּר דְּיַעֲקֹב אִשְׁתַּלִים בֵּיהּ לְבָתָּר. וְרֹאשׁוֹ, דּשם שַׁדַּי, אִיהוּ י', וְדָא מַגִּיעַ הַשָׁמַיְמָה. כֵּיוָן דְּמָטֵי וְסָלִיק אָתּ דָּא, לְהַהוּא אֲתַּר, אִשְׁתְּלִים וְאִתְּקְרֵי בְּהַהוּא שְׁמָא דְּמָארֵיהּ הוי"ה.

And he saw all. He saw Metatron, the Elder of the House, who rules over all that is his, who stands in dominion over the world — in dominion by the name Shaddai. And he ascends on high, in the ascent of the name of his Master, the Tetragrammaton, the place in which Jacob was afterwards made perfect. “And the top of it”: of the name Shaddai, that is the Yod, and this “reached to heaven”. Once this letter arrived and ascended to that place, it was made perfect and was called by that name of its Master, the Tetragrammaton.

Segment 3ג׳

(בראשית כ״ח:י״ב) והִנֵּה מַלְאֲכֵי אֱלהִים עֹלִים וְיֹרְדִים בּוֹ, אִינוּן מַלְאָכִין קַדִּישִׁין, דִּקְרֵבִין לְמַלְכוּתָּא סָלְקִין, וְאִינוּן אָחֳרָנִין דְּלָא קְרֵבִין הֵם נָחֲתֵּי.

AND BEHOLD, THE ANGELS OF GOD ASCENDING AND DESCENDING ON IT. These are the holy angels: those that are near to the kingdom ascend, and those others that are not near, they descend.
