The Zohar · Tzav
Zohar, Tzav 16
Section 16 of 30 in Tzav — 14 segments
Segment 1
There are four species in the lulab (palm-branch) which diverge into seven, and through their employment corresponding ones are roused above to benefit the world in various ways.
Segment 2
And though the Community of Israel is one of these Seven, yet She is herself blessed from the other six and from the Stream which issues from the perennial source. The lower world is also blessed from them through this impulse, for when the Community of Israel is blessed by them all worlds are blessed. For this reason it was customary to go in procession round the altar on this festival (Tabernacles).
Segment 3
And further, by this rousing all six are blessed with water, to be supplied from it; and they all drink from the fount of wine, deepest of all, to come down to the world. And therefore they must all be moist and not dry, to draw down blessings to the world; for these trees are all of them moist continually, and their leaves are found continually, and the time of their gladness is at this season.
