Segment 1א׳

וְדָא אִיהוּ (תהילים צ״ח:א׳) מִזְמוֹר שִׁירוּ לַיְיָ' שִׁיר חָדָשׁ. תּוּשְׁבַּחְתָּא דָּא הָא (בראשית קכ"ג ע"ב) אוֹקִימְנָא. אֲבָל אַף עַל גַּב דְּאִתְּעַרְנָא בֵּיהּ, אַתְּעֲרוּ דְּחַבְרַיָּיא דְּקָא אִתְּעֲרוּ, שַׁפִּיר אִיהוּ, דְּהַנְהוּ פָּרוֹת עָלוֹת כַּד הֲווֹ נַטְלֵי אֲרוֹנָא, אִתְּעָרוּ בְּהַאי תּוּשְׁבַּחְתָּא, כְּמָה דְאַתְּ אָמֵר (שמואל א ו׳:י״ב) וַיִּשַּׁרְנָה הַפָּרוֹת בַּדֶּרֶךְ. וּמַה שִּׁירָה הֲווֹ אַמְרֵי. (תהילים צ״ח:א׳) מִזְמוֹר שִׁירוּ לַיְיָ' שִׁיר חָדָשׁ כִּי נִפְלָאוֹת עָשָׂה. רָזָא דָּא אִיהוּ כְּגַוְונָא דִּלְעֵילָּא. בְּשַׁעֲתָא דְּאִינּוּן חַיּוֹת נַטְלֵי (ארונא) כֻּרְסְיָיא, לְאָרָמָא לֵיהּ לְעֵילָּא, אִינּוּן אַמְרֵי תּוּשְׁבַּחְתָּא דָּא.

“A psalm. Sing unto the Lord a new song, for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand and his holy arm hath wrought salvation for him” (Ps. 98). This Psalm has been expounded elsewhere, and the Companions were perfectly correct in their assertion that it was chanted by the kine Shekinah) when She arrives at “Beth Shemesh”, the “House of the Sun”, which hands receive and bear Her even as the kine bare the ark. This psalm of praise was therefore ordered to be chanted on the Sabbath by the “one people”, namely the children of Israel.

Segment 2ב׳

וְאִי תֵּימָא, אֲמַאי כְּתִיב הָכָא חָדָשׁ, וְהָא תָּדִיר קָאַמְרֵי תּוּשְׁבַּחְתָּא דָּא. אֶלָּא וַדַּאי חָדָשׁ אִיהוּ, וְחָדָשׁ לָא אִקְרֵי, אֶלָּא בְּאִתְּחַדְתוּתָא דְּסִיהֲרָא, כַּד אִתְנְהִירַת מִן שִׁמְשָׁא, כְּדֵין אִיהוּ חָדָשׁ, וְדָא אִיהוּ שִׁיר חָדָשׁ. הוֹשִׁיעָה לוֹ יְמִינוֹ וּזְרוֹעַ קָדְשׁוֹ, הָא אִתְּעָרוּתָא דִּימִינָא וּשְׂמָאלָא לְקַבְּלָא לָהּ.

And should you say: why is “new” written here, seeing that we recite this psalm of praise continually? Rather, it is assuredly new; and it is called new only at the renewal of the moon, when she is lit from the sun — then it is new, and this is “a new song”. “His right hand and His holy arm have wrought salvation for Him”: this is the awakening of the Right and of the Left to receive Her.

Segment 3ג׳

וְתוּשְׁבַּחְתָּא דָּא, כַּד נַטְלֵי אֲרוֹנָא, קָא מְשַׁבְּחָאן לָהּ. כַּד סַלְּקִין לְבֵית שֶׁמֶשׁ. כְּגַוְונָא דַּעֲגָלוֹת סַלְּקִין לְבֵית שֶׁמֶשׁ. וְכֹלָּא בְּרָזָא חַד סָלְקִין, בְּגִין דִּבְשַׁבָּת אִיהוּ סְלִיקוּ דְּכוּרְסְיָּיא, לְסַלְּקָא לְעֵילָּא. תִּקּוּנָא דְּתוּשְׁבַּחְתָּא דָּא בְּשַׁבָּת אִלֵּין תּוּשְׁבְּחָן כֻּלְּהוּ אַתְקִינוּ בְּשַׁבָּת, לְשַׁבְּחָא לֵיהּ עַמָּא יְחִידָא בְּעָלְמָא.

And this psalm of praise — when they carried the ark they chanted it to Her, when they went up to Beth Shemesh, in the manner of the wagons that went up to Beth Shemesh. And all ascend in one mystery, because on the Sabbath there is the ascent of the Throne, to rise on high. The ordering of this psalm of praise is on the Sabbath: all these psalms of praise were ordained on the Sabbath, that the one people in the world might praise Him.
