Segment 1א׳

פָּתַח וְאָמַר (שמות כ״ה:ב׳) וְיִקְחוּ לִי תְּרוּמָה, הָכָא אִיהוּ יִחוּדָא בִּכְלָלָא חֲדָא. עֵילָּא וְתַתָּא. וְיִקְחוּ תְּרוּמָה לָא כְּתִיב, אֶלָּא וְיִקְחוּ לִי תְּרוּמָה, עֵילָּא וְתַתָּא בִּכְלָלָא חֲדָא, בְּלא פִּרוּדָא כְּלָל.

He then began to expound this passage as follows. ‘ “They shall take Me a heave offering.” Here we have displayed an inclusive union of the above with the below, for it does not say “They shall take a heave offering”, but “They shall take Me a heave offering”, which denotes a fusion of the upper with the lower spheres.

Segment 2ב׳

מֵאֵת כָּל אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר יִדְּבֶנּוּ לִבּוֹ תִּקְחוּ אֶת תְּרוּמָתִי. הַאי קְרָא, הָכִי אִצְטְרִיךְ לֵיהּ לְמֵימַר, כָּל אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר יִדְּבֶנּוּ לִבּוֹ, (ס"א יקח את תרומתי) מַאי מֵאֵת כָּל אִישׁ. אֶלָּא רָזָא הָכָא לְאִינוּן מָרֵי מִדִין. זַכָּאִין אִינּוּן צַדִּיקַיָּא, דְּיַדְעֵי לְשַׁוָּאָה רְעוּתָא דְּלִבְּהוֹן לְגַבֵּי מַלְכָּא עִלָּאָה קַדִישָׁא, וְכָל רְעוּתָא דְּלִבְּהוֹן לָאו אִיהוּ לְגַבֵּי עָלְמָא דָּא, וּבְכִסּוּפָא בַּטְלָּה דִּילֵיהּ. אֶלָּא יַדְעֵי וּמִשְׁתַּדְּלֵי לְשַׁוָּאָה רְעוּתְהוֹן וּלְאִתְדַּבְּקָא לְעֵילָּא, בְּגִין לְאַמְשָׁכָא רְעוּתָא (דלהון) דְּמָארֵיהוֹן לְגַבַּיְיהוּ מֵעֵילָּא לְתַתָּא.

“On the part of everyone whose heart is willing ye should take my heave offering.” The words “on the part of seem at first sight to be superfluous, but in reality they contain a deep lesson for the masters of the esoteric lore. Blessed are the righteous who have learnt how to centre all their thoughts and desires on the Heavenly King, and whose aspirations are directed, not towards the vain and foolish toys of this world and its lusts, but to attaching themselves wholeheartedly to the world above in order to draw down the favour of the Lord Himself from heaven to earth.

Segment 3ג׳

וּמַאן אֲתָר נַטְלֵי הַהוּא רְעוּתָא דְּמָארֵיהוֹן לְאַמְשָׁכָא לֵיהּ לְגַבַּיְיהוּ. נַטְלִין מֵאֲתָר חַד עִלָּאָה קַדִישָׁא, דְּמִנֵּיהּ נָפְקִין כָּל רְעוּתִין קַדִּישִׁין. וּמַאן אִיהוּ. כָּל אִישׁ. דָּא (מ"ב ע"ב) צַדִּיק, דְּאִתְקְרֵי כֹּל, כְּמָה דְאַתְּ אָמֵר (קהלת ה׳:ח׳) וְיִתְרוֹן אֶרֶץ בַּכֹּל הִיא. (תהילים קי״ט:קכ״ח) עַל כֵּן כָּל פִּקּוּדֵי כֹל יִשָּׁרְתִּי. אִישׁ: כְּמָה דְאַתְּ אָמֵר (בראשית ו׳:ט׳) אִישׁ צַדִיק. דָּא אִיהוּ צַדִיק, (ס"א כל איש) מָארֵיהּ דְּבֵיתָא, דִּרְעוּתֵיהּ תָּדִיר לְגַבֵּי מַטְרוֹנִיתָא, כְּבַעְלָהּ דְּרָחִים לְאִתְתֵיהּ תָּדִיר. יִדְּבֶנּוּ לִבּוֹ אִיהוּ רָחִים לָהּ. וְלִבּוֹ דְּאִיהִי מַטְרוֹנִיתָא דִּילֵיהּ, יִדְּבֶנּוּ לְאִתְדַּבְּקָא בֵּיהּ.

What is the place whence they receive this favour? It is a holy supernal region, whence emanate all holy wills and desires. This is known as “every man”, who is identical with the “Righteous”, the Lord of the House, whose love is always directed towards the Matrona, like a husband who loves his wife always. “Whose heart is willing”: that is, His heart goes out to Her, and Her heart to Him.
