Segment 1א׳

דְּאָמַר רִבִּי יֵיסָא, כַּד נָטֵי שִׁמְשָׁא, וְאִתְחַלָּשׁ, כְּדֵין אִתְפְּתַח חַד פְּתִיחוּ בְּשִׁמְשָׁא, וְאִתְכְּנִישׁ חֵילֵיהּ, וּשְׂמָאלָא שַׁלִּיט. וְיִצְחָק כָּרֵי בֵּירָא תְּחוֹתֵיהּ.

For R. Jesse said: When the sun declines and grows weak, then a certain opening is opened in the sun, and its strength is gathered in, and the left rules. And Isaac digs a well beneath it.

Segment 2ב׳

כֵּיוָן דְּעָאל לֵילְיָא, פִּתְקָא דְּקוּטְפָא בְּאַחֲמָתֵיהּ שְׁכִיחַ. וְכַמָּה חֲבִילִין טְרִיקָן (אזדריקו) אִתְפָּשָׁטוּ בְּעָלְמָא, וְכֻלְּהוּ שָׁטָאן בְּעִרְבּוּבְיָא, וְאָזְלֵי וְחַיְיכָאן בְּנַפְשָׁן דְּרַשִּׁיעַיָּיא, (ס"א דבני נשא) וּמוֹדְעִין לוֹן מִלִּין, מִנְּהוֹן כְּדִיבָן, וּמִנְּהוֹן קְשׁוֹט, וּמַאן דְּאִשְׁתְּכַח בֵּינַיְיהוּ, אִתְיְיהִיב לוֹן רְשׁוּ לְחַבְּלָא, וְכֻלְּהוּ בְּנֵי עָלְמָא נַיְימִין, (ואתכנשו) וְטַעֲמִין טַעֲמָא דְּמוֹתָא, וְהָא אוֹקִימְנָא.

When night has come in, the record of the reaper is found in his pouch. And many malignant bands (a variant reads: were flung out) spread abroad in the world, and they all rove about in confusion, and go and sport with the souls of the wicked (a variant reads: of men), and make things known to them, some of them lies and some of them truth. And whoever is found among them, permission is given them to do harm. And all the people of the world are asleep (a variant reads: and are gathered in) and taste the taste of death; and this we have explained.

תָּא חֲזֵי, כַּד אִתְּעַר רוּחַ צָפוֹן, כְּדֵין אִתְקַבְּלָא כְּנֶסֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל בִּשְׂמָאלָא, וְאִתְחַבָּרוּ כַּחֲדָא וְשַׁרְיָא בִּדְרוֹעָא בְּאַתְרָהָא. וְקוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא אָתֵי לְאִשְׁתַּעְשְׁעָא עִם צַדִּיקַיָּיא דִּבְגִנְתָּא דְּעֵדֶן, וּכְדֵין כָּל מַאן דְּיִתְּעַר לְמִלְעֵי בְּאוֹרַיְיתָא בְּהַהוּא שַׁעֲתָא. הָא אִשְׁתְּתַּף בַּהֲדָהּ, בְּגִין דְּהִיא (יתבת) וְכָל אֻכְלוּסִין דִּילָהּ, מְשַׁבְּחָן לְמַלְכָּא עִלָּאָה, וְכָל אִינּוּן דְּאִשְׁתְּכָחוּ (נ"א דאשתתפו בהדה) בְּתוּשְׁבַּחְתָּא דְּאוֹרַיְיתָא, כֻּלְּהוּ כְּתִיבִין בִּבְנֵי הֵיכָלָא, וְאִקְרוּן בִּשְׁמֵהוֹן, וְאִלֵּין רְשִׁימִין בִּימָמָא.

Observe: when the north wind awakes, then the Community of Israel is received in the left, and they are joined together, and she rests in the arm, in her own place. And the Holy One, blessed be He, comes to take delight with the righteous in the Garden of Eden. And then whoever rouses himself to study the Torah at that hour has a share with her, because she (a variant reads: sits) and all her hosts are praising the supernal King; and all those who are found (a variant reads: who share with her) in the praise of the Torah are all written among the children of the palace, and are called by their names, and these are marked out by day.
