Segment 1א׳
וַיָּקוּמוּ לִפְנֵי מֹשֶׁה וְגוֹ'. הַאי קְרָא אוּקְמוּהָ חַבְרַיָּיא. רִבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן אָמַר, קְרִיאֵי מוֹעֵד קְרִאֵי כְּתִיב, חָסֵר יוֹ"ד, אֲמַאי קְרִאֵי. אֶלָּא הָכִי הוּא, מַלְכוּתָא דְּאַרְעָא כְּעֵין מַלְכוּתָא דִּרְקִיעָא. וְרָזָא דָּא, כָּל אִינּוּן כִּתְרִין עִלָּאִין, דִּשְׁמָא קַדִּישָׁא אִתְאֲחִיד בְּהוּ, כֻּלְּהוּ זְמִינִין מֵאֲתָר דְּאִקְרֵי קֹדֶשׁ, הֲדָא הוּא דִכְתִיב, (ויקרא כ״ג:ב׳) מִקְרָאֵי קֹדֶשׁ. וְאֵימָתַי (צ"ח) בְּשַׁעֲתָא דְּמוֹעֵד זַמִּין בְּעָלְמָא, כְּגַוְונָא דְּאִינּוּן כִּתְרִין עִלָּאִין, דִּזְמִינִין מִקֹדֶשׁ עִלָּאָה, הָכִי נָמֵי קֹדֶשׁ תַּתָּא זַמִּין לְחֵילוֹי, לְאַעְטְרָא וּלְאַעְלָאָה לְהוּ.
AND THEY ROSE UP BEFORE MOSES, ETC. R. Simeon said: ‘The earthly kingdom is on the pattern of the heavenly kingdom. All those supernal Crowns to which the Holy Name is attached are summoned from a place called Holiness, and just as the higher Holiness summons them, so the lower Holiness summons its hosts to be crowned and exalted therewith.
Segment 2ב׳
קֹדֶשׁ עִלָּאָה יְדִיעָא, קֹדֶשׁ תַּתָּאָה חָכְמַת שְׁלֹמֹה, הָכִי נָמֵי אִיהִי זְמִינַת לְכָל חֵילָהָא. וְאִינּוּן חַיָּילִין כּוּלְּהוּ, זְמִינִין לְאִתְעַטְּרָא בְּהַאי קֹדֶשׁ תַּתָּאָה, בְּזִמְנָא דְּמוֹעֵד שַׁרְיָיא בְּעָלְמָא. וּכְגַוְונָא דְּחֵילָהָא קַיְימִין לְעֵילָּא, הָכִי נָמֵי קַיְימֵי מְמָנָן דְּעַמָּא, כְּדוּגְמָא דִּילָהּ לְתַתָּא, וְעַל דָּא אִקְרוּן קְרִאֵי מוֹעֵד. וּבְגִין דְּאִנּוּן לְתַתָּא, קְרִאֵי מוֹעֵד חָסֵר, (כגוונא דלעילא) אֲבָל בִּשְׁלִימוּ יַתִּיר אִינּוּן.
And just as its hosts are above, so are the rulers of the people below. Hence they are described here as “called to the assembly”.
Segment 3ג׳
אַנְשֵׁי שֵׁם וַדַּאי, וְלָא אַנְשֵׁי יְיָ. וְדָא הוּא רָזָא, בְּנָקְבוֹ שֵׁם יוּמָת, וְאוֹקִימְנָא. וְעַל דָּא אִקְרֵי הָכָא, אַנְשֵׁי שֵׁם וַדַּאי, כֵּיוָן דְּמִסִטְרָא דִּגְבוּרָה קָא אַתְיָין, אַנְשֵׁי שֵׁם אִינּוּן, הָא שְׁבָחָא דִּלְהוֹן יַתִּיר, אֲבָל אִינּוּן נַטְלוּ לְגַרְמַיְיהוּ. וְאִתְאַחֲדוּ בְּמַחְלוֹקֶת.
They are also called here “men of name”, but not “men of the Lord”, because they came from the side of Geburah, but they arrogated more to themselves and banded together in contention.
