Segment 1
Faithful Shepherd, the vessels of Passover: at the time when the night of watching rules over them, they all must be watched, and guarded from leaven and from leavening in the least amount; and all foods and drinks (a variant reads: the vessels of Passover), all of them are guarded. And one who guards them from leaven and from leavening — his body is guarded from the evil inclination below, and the soul (his soul) above. And of him it is said, “evil shall not sojourn with You” (Ps. 5, 5); because his body has been made holy, and his soul a holy of holies. And of the evil inclination it is said, “and no common man shall eat of the holy thing” (Lev. 22, 10); “and the common man that draws near shall be put to death” (Num. 1, 51).
Segment 2
Passover is the right arm of Abraham, refined silver. One who mixes lead into it falsifies it. So one who mixes leaven or leavening in the least amount into the unleavened bread, it is as though he falsified the seal (the coinage) of the King. And so one who mixes any admixture into his own drop, it is as though he falsified the seal of the King. This depends upon that.
