Segment 1
Ra'aya Meheimna. “And he shall wave the omer,” etc. (Lev. 23, 11). This precept (32) is to offer the offering of the omer. This offering is wholly in cleaving, above and below; the Matrona and her children go as one. This omer Israel offer in their purity, and that offering is of barley; and it was offered to bring love between a woman and her husband.
Segment 2
The wife of harlotry removed herself from among them, for she could not stand against her. The woman of worth drew near to come before the High Priest: assuredly she is pure, “then she shall be cleared, and shall conceive seed” (Num. 5, 28); and she added strength and love toward her husband. The wife of harlotry fled from the sanctuary, so as not to come near it; for if at the time when the woman of worth was examining herself she had come near her, she would have been lost from the world. And therefore she did not wish to come near the sanctuary, and she fled from it; and Israel were left worthy, without any other admixture, before the mystery of faith.
Segment 3
AND YE SHALL COUNT TO YOU FROM THE MORROW AFTER THE SABBATH. Observe that when Israel were in Egypt they were under an alien domination and they were trammelled with uncleanness like a woman in the days of her uncleanness.
