Segment 1

R. Simeon said: “The counsel of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and His covenant, to make them know it” (Ps. 25, 14). “The counsel of the Lord is with those who fear Him”: this is the Community of Israel. “And His covenant, to make them know it”: this is the Zaddik, foundation of the world, in a single bond.

Segment 2

Yod: three letters, the completeness of all. Yod, the beginning of all; Yod, the supernal of all. Vau, the middle one, the completeness of every side, passing over to all the spirits; upon it faith depends. Daleth: the garden, the bundle of life. This letter is small, and it is the completeness of all.

Segment 3

This letter is hidden on every side. When it comes forth, it comes forth like a king with his hosts. Afterwards it returns, Yod by itself: in it the matter is sealed, in it the matter comes forth; it closes and it opens.
