Zohar, Bereshit 54

Section 54 of 102 in Bereshit — 4 segments

Segment 1

And he moves on from this palace and enters the fourth palace; and there are all those who mourn for Zion and Jerusalem, and all those slain by the rest of the idolatrous nations. And he begins to weep. And then all those princes of the seed of David take hold of him and comfort him.

Segment 2

He begins a second time and weeps, until a voice goes forth and is joined with that voice and ascends on high, and it remains there until the New Moon. And when it descends, how many lights and radiances descend with it, giving light to all those palaces, and healing and light to all those slain, and to those stricken with sicknesses and pains who bore them together with the Messiah.

Segment 3

And then he puts on the purple robe. And engraved and inscribed in that purple robe are all those slain by the rest of the idolatrous nations. And that purple robe ascends on high and is engraved there within the supernal purple robe of the King. And the Holy One, blessed be He, is destined to put on that purple robe and to judge the nations, as it is written, “He will judge among the nations; He fills it with dead bodies” (Ps. 110, 6) — until he comes and comforts them; and lights and delights descend with him for their delighting, and how many angels and chariots with him, each one with a garment, for all those souls of the slain to be clothed in them; and there they take their delight all that time that he ascends and descends.
