Section 31 of 47 in Balak — 5 segments
Segment 1
“I behold him”, etc.: the form and the likeness of his father are imprinted in him indeed. And from that time when he was in his mother’s womb, from her side he was stretched out and set forth a step further outward. “For from the top of the rocks I see him”: this is the likeness and the form of his father indeed. Once he was in his mother’s womb, “I behold him”: he set forth a step outward, after the manner of the letter tav.
Segment 2
And this is “and from the hills I behold him”: in the highest Academy, gevaoth is written defective, without vav. In the Academy of the firmament, “and from the hills” is with the letter vav. And it completes two sides. One, that this hill is never parted from her son and never forsakes him; therefore the vav is included with her for ever. And one, that the lower hill, her son who is included in her, will be needed in the time to come, when the King Messiah shall come, for the supernal hill to take him and to bring him within her wings, so as to give him strength and to raise him up in supernal life; and from her the Messiah son of David shall come forth on that day.
Segment 3
And this is the mystery of “I will tell of the decree: the Lord said to me, You are My son, this day have I begotten you” (Ps. 2, 7). I am appointed to speak to that place which is called “decree”, and to bring it the tidings. On that very day that decree shall bring him forth from beneath her wings, with many kinds of life, with many crowns, with many blessings, as is fitting.
