Se’if 1א׳
These interpose in vessels: pitch and mor (there is one who explains it as bitumen, and there is one who explains it as mastico or musco) on vessels of glass, whether from within or from without.
Se’if 2ב׳
Every thing about which it is the way to be particular interposes; and if not, it does not interpose, unless it covered the greater part of it (the Rambam, chapter 3). Hagah [Rema]: The blackening that clings to a cauldron on the outside is like the wall of the vessel, and its way is so, and it does not interpose. (Beit Yosef, the end of siman 120, in the name of the Rosh)
Se’if 3ג׳
The handles of vessels that do not stand to be fixed permanently — such as where he put them in not in their manner, or where he did not put them all in, or where he put them all in and they broke — interpose.
