Just as it is forbidden to sell setam yeinam (the ordinary wine of idolaters) and to derive benefit from it, so it is forbidden to earn wages by it. Therefore, an Israelite who was hired to an idolater (oved kokhavim — the standing term for a gentile) to do work for him, even work with setam yeinam; or who hired out to him his donkey or his ship to carry it in, or his cellar to store it in — his wages are forbidden in benefit. And if he took money from him as his wages, he grinds it and scatters it to the wind, or casts it into the sea. If he gave him produce, he shall carry it to the Dead Sea, or burn it and bury the ash in a cemetery. Even if he took in his wages land or an animal, which do not become forbidden where one bows down to them, and he worshipped them — they were stringent with them, to forbid them in benefit. Hagah [Rema]: And see above, siman 123, that in this time they are lenient as to permitting benefit from setam yeinam; and therefore one is not to be stringent in these laws save with actual yayin nesach (wine poured out as an idolatrous libation).

Se’if 2ב׳

If he hired out to him his donkey to ride upon, even though he set his flagon of wine upon it; or if he hired out to him his ship to carry his merchandise in it, even though he puts in it also his food and his drink — his wages are permitted, since the main part of the hire was not for the sake of yayin nesach.

Se’if 3ג׳

An idolater who hired the labourer and said to him, "Carry over for me a hundred barrels of beer for a hundred perutot (the smallest copper coin)", and one of them was found to be wine — the whole of his wages is forbidden, since there is among them the worth of a perutah from the wages of the yayin nesach. For if it were less than the worth of a perutah, it is permitted after the fact. And if he said to him, "Carry over for me every barrel for a perutah", and a barrel of wine was found among them — the wages of the barrel of wine are forbidden, and as for the rest, his wages are permitted. And at the outset it is forbidden to do so.
