Se’if 1א׳
Not to do work on the eve of Passover after midday. Containing 10 sections: One who does work on the eve of Passover from midday onwards we excommunicate him. And even to do [the work] for free is forbidden. And there is one who forbids even [doing it] through a non-Jew, and there is one who permits [it through a non-Jew] >(and this is the custom).
Se’if 2ב׳
In what case are these words said? When he does work for gain, or for nothing and it is complete work, such as actually sewing garments (Beit Yosef); but he may mend his vessels for the festival day. And likewise one who writes books for himself in the course of his study is permitted.
Se’if 3ג׳
Before midday: a place where they were accustomed to do work, they do it; a place where they were accustomed not to do it, they do not do it. Hagah [Rema]: And for us it is a place where they were accustomed not to do it (Maharyu); and specifically complete labours, but for other labours there is not even a custom (Mahariv).
