Just as a person may not walk on Shabbat and Yom Tov more than two thousand cubits in each direction, so too his vessels and animals — no person may take them beyond the two thousand cubits of their owner. If the owner made an eruv in one direction, no person may take them in the other direction even one step to a place where the owner cannot go. Rema: See above at the end of Siman 305 regarding whether one may hand over an animal to a non-Jew in a place where there is concern he may take it beyond the boundary.
