Rav Yosi, of the fourth Babylonian generation, bears the Babylonian form of a name whose Eretz-Yisrael spelling belongs to several far better-known sages; in this corpus it is the title alone that separates them, and the Bavli rarely cites him under this form at all.

He is named five times — twice in Sanhedrin, and once each in Bava Metzia, Shabbat and Shekalim. The roster marks the entry for review, and the short entry is the honest one.

Rarely cited under this form.
