רב עוקבא Rav Ukva

Amora of Babylonia · 4th generation (c. 320–350 CE) — named 10 times across 8 tractates of the Bavli.

Rav Ukva, of the fourth Babylonian generation — a different man from Mar Ukva of the first generation and from Mar Ukva bar Chama, and the roster keeps all three apart.

He is named some ten times across eight tractates, spread so thinly that no tractate carries more than two, and Rav Chisda carries a teaching in his name. The entry is marked for review; beyond the generation and the counts, the reference tradition holds little that can be stated firmly.
