The Sages of the Talmud

רב סחורה Rav Sechora

Amora of Babylonia · 4th generation (c. 320–350 CE) — named 10 times across 9 tractates of the Bavli.

Amora of Babylonia · 4th generation×10 named in the Bavli9 tractates

Rav Sechora, of the fourth Babylonian generation, is one of the fixed links in a chain the Bavli uses often: Rava said, Rav Sechora said, Rav Huna said. Eight of his citations carry a teaching in Rav Huna's name and six are carried onward by Rava, so that almost everything preserved of him is preserved in transit.

He is named some ten times across nine tractates, spread as thinly as a count that size allows.

Cites Rav Huna.
