Rav Pinchas, of the fifth Babylonian generation. He is named some thirty times across fifteen tractates, two of those inside another sage's patronymic, spread thinly with Shabbat, Shevuot and Zevachim the heaviest.

The entry is marked for review, and the reason is simply that he is rarely cited: beyond his generation and the company in which the name appears — Rava's, and the sages of the fifth generation — the reference tradition holds little that can be stated firmly.

Rarely cited.
