רב ברונא Rav Berona

Amora of Babylonia · 2nd generation (c. 250–290 CE) — named 17 times across 8 tractates of the Bavli.

Amora of Babylonia · 2nd generation×17 named in the Bavli8 tractates

Rav Berona, of the second Babylonian generation, was one of Rav's students, and nine of his citations carry a teaching in Rav's name. The Talmud calls him a great man who rejoiced in the commandments, and tells that once he joined the blessing of redemption to the Amidah without a break, and the smile did not leave his face the whole day.

He is named some seventeen times across eight tractates, heaviest in Eruvin, and Rav and Rav Chananel are the names he stands beside most.

Of Rav's students.
