רבי זכריה בן הקצב Rabbi Zechariah ben HaKatzav
Tanna · 2nd generation (c. 80–110 CE) — named 9 times across 2 tractates of the Bavli.
Rabbi Zechariah ben HaKatzav, of the second tannaitic generation, was a priest in Jerusalem at the time of the destruction, and the Mishnah preserves him chiefly as a witness. With Rabbi Yose HaKohen he testified about a woman taken as a pledge at Ashkelon, that she had neither been secluded nor defiled — a testimony the sages accepted on the reasoning that those who are believed about the one are believed about the other.
He is named nine times in only two tractates, seven of them in Bava Batra and two in Ketubot.
A priest of Jerusalem at the destruction.
